Kakinada: RTC buses cancelled due to corona effect
Kakinada: The RTC authorities took a decision not to provide blankets in their air conditioned buses as the virus spreads fast in AC buses. Moreover due to poor occupancy ratio the RTC authorities also cancelled long distance buses running from various depots in the district. RTC Kakinada Depot Manager P Bhaskar speaking to "The Hans India" here on Friday, said that as per the directions of the State government they have taken up all precautionary measures to prevent spread of Coronavirus like thoroughly cleaning all the buses and complex surrounding areas. He instructed the staff must wash their hands frequently, he said.
Full water washing of buses is being ensured at the complex earmarked for the purpose. He said that regular and frequent cleaning of complex premises including waiting halls and seating arrangements is undertaken. He said that following the instructions of the RTC higher authorities to arrest the spread of coronavirus they cancelled Kakinada- Bangalore (Single Service), Kakinada -Tirupathi and Kakinada – Hyderabad (2 Services).
Bhaskar said that they stopped the supply of blankets in AC buses and removed window curtains. He suggested the passengers to immediately consult the doctor if they notice the symptoms of Covid-19 like fever, cough, breathing problems among the other passengers.
