Kakinada: Trade union activists stage dharna demanding action against LG Polymers

Kakinada: AITUC, INTUC, CITU and IFTU activists staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Monday demanding that the government take stern action against LG polymers. The gas leak from the company claimed 11 lives.

CITU district unit president Ch Rajkumar and the trade union leaders alleged that the LG polymers company management had failed to take precautionary measures to avert the accident.

The leaders also demanded that the State and Central governments conduct regular inspection of the industries which are using various chemicals and gas.

The leaders submitted a memorandum to the District Revenue Office Sathiraju. Leaders V Lakshmi, P Veerababu, M S Narayana, J Venkateswra Rao and others were present.
