Kakinada: TTD's proposal to sell properties draws criticism

Kakinada: The TTD proposal to sell properties situated in Tamil Nadu attracted severe criticism from political parties and others. BJP Kisan Morcha national executive member Yarlagadda Ramkumar lambasted the TDP administration for its unholy deal and proposal to sell away the lord's properties elsewhere. He demanded for scrapping of entire TTD Board and handing over to Central government.

TDP senior leader and former TTD Board member Pilli Ananta Lakshmi and district TDP secretary Pilli Satyanarayana said that the sentiments of Hindus were bruised and the international reputation of the TTD was going down in view of the proposal of the committee to dispose of the lands. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was deliberately hurting the sentiments of majority Hindus with this decision.

Dr N K V Rao, a retired principal, remarked that those who donated the lands to the Lord will curse the people who are party to the disposal of their lands. GV Ratnam, general secretary of Voxpopuli, felt that the proposal was meant to benefit their kith and kin.

N V Ravindra, a devotee of Lord Venkateswara, commented that no devotee would be willing to give any property to the TTD in view of the commercial attitude of the TTD Board.
