Kakinada: United Teachers Federation takes out rally against Contributory Pension Scheme

Kakinada: MLC Illa Venkateshwara Rao demanded that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy should implement the 11th PRC and scrap the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) in the State, a promise that he made to the people during elections last year.

United Teachers Federation (UTF) State Secretary G Prabhakara Varma and APNGO district secretary G Rammohan Rao and employees and teachers took out a massive rally here on Tuesday. They raised slogans to scrap the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and implement the 11th PRC in the State. A large number of teachers and employees participated in the dharna at the Zilla Parishad Centre here on Tuesday.

MLC Venkateswara Rao was the chief guest on the occasion. He said that it was disheartening to note that Chief Minister Jagan has not taken any action with regard to the CPS even though he came to power nine months ago.

He demanded the State government to pass a resolution in the Assembly to scrap the CPS which was detrimental to the interest of lakhs of employees. He urged the government to release the pending DA to the employees. UTF State Secretary G. Prabhakar Varma recalled that YSRC had promised to cancel the CPS before the elections.

Why was the Chief Minister silent, he questioned. He urged the government to scrap the CPS and implement 11th PRC in the state.
