Kanipakam Brahmotsavams: Temple earns revenue of 1.53 crore

Tirupati: Construction of a 100 feet road which connects Kanipakam temple to the highway will be taken up soon, said Executive Officer of the temple V Demullu.

Speaking to the media at Kanipakam on Monday, he said that they had briefed District Collector about that road as a final decision on the opinions of the villagers had to be taken.

The construction of Potu in the temple will also be taken up along with other development works.

The temple located in Irala mandal near Chittoor has earned reputation across the country and the devotee flow has been increasing every year. The Brahmotsavams of Swayambhu Varasiddi Vinayaka Swamy are being held every year for 21 days starting from Vinayaka Chavithi.

This year these Utsavams were held between September 2 and 22. The EO said that the Brahmotsavams were a grand success and nearly 3 lakh people had worshipped the Lord during these 21 days.

Especially, more number of devotees had visited the temple on Vinayaka Chavithi, Teppotsavam and Pushpa Pallaki days.

The temple earned revenue of Rs 1.53 crore during this period which was Rs.4.96 lakh more than the previous year. In spite of huge rush, no untoward incident had taken place and temple administration has made elaborate arrangements for the convenience of devotees. Police and revenue officials have extended good cooperation, EO added.

Everyday cultural programmes which include classical dances, dramas and mythological plays etc. were organised and received huge applause from the devotees.

Spiritual discourses by eminent scholars were the highlight. The flower decorations, illumination of the temple and surrounding areas have attracted the people.
