Kapuluppada hill in Visakhapatnam likely to host executive Capital in AP
The YSRCP government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, which proposed to make Visakhapatnam as administrative capital is looking for the place to construct the secretariat. In the latest development, if the reports are to be believed, the government is reportedly planning to build a secretariat on Kapuluppada hill near the Millennium Towers at Mathurawada in Visakhapatnam.
Earlier, the government has thought of setting up the secretariat in the Millennium Towers. However, due to unknown reasons, the idea was abandoned. Previously an IT layout was created for IT companies on Kapuluppada hill where the Adani group had proposed to set up a data park on the hill and has made an investment of Rs 3,000 crore. However, the government has promised the lands to the company at another place and is planning to set up a secretariat building on the Kapuluppada hill.
It is reported that the land on hills is used to build secretariat and government offices. The 1350-acre site is currently available on the hill, while the 250-acre layout is laid out. APIIC officials are now contemplating to flattened the 600 acres more land in addition to 175 acre land.
