Karat slams YSRCP for unholy tie-up with BJP
Visakhapatnam: The CPM suspects an 'unholy' alliance between the BJP, the ruling party at the Centre and the YSRCP, which is holding the power in the State, said the party's Politburo member Brinda Karat at a media conference held here on Friday while expressing dismay at the manner in which the YSRC members were extending support to the Modi government at the Centre.
She said the self-respect of Andhra people had suffered a serious setback with the blatant way the MPs from YSRCP were supporting the Modi government.
Even as the Centre had made it clear that the Special Category Status would not be accorded to the State, the YSRCP, which had fought for the same, failed to utter a word in the Parliament against it.
This gives scope for suspicion that the YSRCP has an 'unholy alliance' with the BJP government at the Centre and demanded an explanation from it.
On the alleged injustice done to the tribal community at the Centre, Karat expressed displeasure over the in delay in implementing the Forest Rights Act in the country as the government was keen on clandestinely handing over the forest lands to the corporate sector.
The party would expose the treacherous act of the Centre and justice would be done to the tribal community in all Girijan areas, Karat said. She noted that percentage of unemployment has gone up in the recent years.
