Kavali IRC organises blindfold walk in Nellore

Nellore: Indian Red Cross Society, Kavali Sub-branch organised a blindfold walk in the town on Sunday creating awareness of cornea donation. Convener Dr B Ravi Kumar said that there are around 25 lakh blind persons due to cornea related problems, only 41,000 are donating cornea every year.

RCS chairman D Ravi Prakash said that they had organised blindfold walk in the town to highlight the difficulties of the blind. He said they are going to conduct various activities for a fortnight in association with District Blindness Control Society, Modern Eye Bank, and other non-government organisations for creating awareness on cornea donation
