Kakinada: The security personnel of Government General Hospital in Kakinada staged dharna in front of the hospital on Tuesday, demanding release of three months of salary arrears immediately. They threatened the authorities to strike work, if the problem was not resolved in another two days.

Leading the agitation, AITUC district vice-president Tatipaka Madhu said that the security staff was not being paid salaries for the past three months and they were striving hard to get meal for their children. He alleged that the government was exhibiting its indifference towards security personnel who are not able to pay school fees for their children.

He requested Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy and the District Collector D Mualidhar Reddy to interfere in the matter and settle the issue.

The AITUC leader TS Narayana said that the agitation will be intensified in a phased manner with the demand of release of salaries and Provident Fund amounts.
