KGGH to get clearance for plasma therapy

Kurnool: The Principal of Kurnool Medical College, Dr P Chandrasekhar has said that the Indian Council of Medical and Research (ICMR) has given approval for plasma therapy. Efforts are being made on war footing basis for getting permission, he said while addressing media persons at Medical College here on Thursday.

On the occasion, Dr P Chandrasekhar said that the plasma therapy is more useful to the patients infected with corona virus. The plasma collected from the recovered patients would be again used to the new corona patients, he said.

Government General Hospital Superintendent, Dr Narendranath Reddy said that the plasma collected from the

patients who have recovered from the disease would be preserved after separating the antibodies in the plasma. These anti bodies will lessen the virus intensity.

Plasma therapy would be applied depending upon the health conditions of the patient, said Narendranath Reddy. Covid special officer, Dr Prabhakar Reddy, Hospital Deputy Superintendent, Dr Narasimhulu, Ethics Committee Chairman, Dr Bhavani Prasad and others were present at the press meet.
