Kurnool: Former Union Minister Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy came down heavily on the YSR Congress government and alleged that the party leaders were intentionally harassing TDP leaders by foisting false cases on them.

He along with former Minister Kalava Srinivasulu, party district president Somishetty Venkateshwarulu, constituency incharge TG Bharat and State secretary Aruna Kumari addressed party cadre at a meeting here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Surya Prakash Reddy alleged that the YSR Congress government with ill-intention was harassing the leaders of Telugu Desam. He said the government had failed to come up to the expectations of the people of the State.

He said the people were expressing their displeasure at the style of functioning of the State government and regretting as to why they had voted the YSRCP to power. He said the government was terrorising people by foisting false cases. In a bid to instil confidence among the party activists, Kotla said the party will always stand by them and effectively counter the attacks by the YSR Congress.

Former Minister Kalava Srinivasulu said the party was ready to face any kind of calamity and crisis situations were not new to the Telugu Desam Party. He pointed out that T G Bharat was always ready to serve people and he lost the Assembly election just by a narrow margin.

Srinivasulu regretted that the works pertaining to Polavaram Project and capital Amaravati came to a standstill after the YSRCP came to power in the State six months ago. He said no one was showing interest to invest in the State under the current regime.

Instead of focussing on development, the YSRCP government was only concentrating on attacks against opponents, he said. The former Minister stressed the need for party activists to fight unitedly against the attacks by the YSRCP workers.

Kurnool constituency in-charge TG Bharat pointed out that he lost in the Assembly polls just by 30 votes. If his candidature was declared by the TDP leadership six months in advance he would have easily won the election, he said.
