Kuchipudi dance by Sruti Samanvi enthrals: MLA Malladi Vishnu

Vijayawada: Sruti Samanvi, disciple of Natyacharya B Sudheer Rao, captivated the audience with her spell bound and scintillating dance performance in Kuchipudi style at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) on Monday at the Natyasravanti, a monthly dance programme organised jointly by CCVA and Srinivasa Farms.

The chief guest of the programme was Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu. He inaugurated the programme and said that Sruti Samanvi is an exceptionally talented artiste in Kuchipudi who displayed and carried on the glorious heritage of Kuchipudi art form.

Sruti Samanvi began with Uttukkadu Venkata Subbayya's composition 'Swagatam Krishna Saranagatam Krishna' (Mohana Raga, Aditala) and displayed Lord Krishna in his ten incarnations, followed by Jhanuta Sabda in Mohana raga set to Aditala in which she showcased the traditional court dance.

The third item of the performance was a Keerthana called 'Maheswari Mahakali' composed by Balantrapu Rajani Kanta Rao, in Ragamalika and Aditala, highlighted the Valourous Goddess Kali, who destroyed the evil forces. The programme was concluded with Annamayya kirthana 'Itti Mudduladevadu Edavade' in Ananda Bhairavi raga set to Aditala and displayed full grace and love of Yasoda on the childhood activities of Balakrishna.

The chief guest felicitated the artiste. Later, the organisers honoured the chief guest Malladi Vishnu with a shawl and a memento. Y Harish Chandra Prasad, founder and chief mentor, Malaxmi Group, Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, CEO, CCVA, Sandeep Mandava, CEO, Malaxmi Properties limited, and dance lovers of the city participated in the event.
