Kurnool: 3,000 litres of spurious liquor destroyed in raid

Kurnool: The Prohibition and Excise department sleuths of Banaganapalle acting on tip-off that spurious liquor is being manufactured in the district conducted raids on Tuesday at Kondama Nayunipalle and Isra Naik villages in Owk mandal.

Speaking to media on Wednesday, Circle Inspector Chandrahas said that manufacturing of spurious liquor was going on large scale at the hillocks of thandas.

On receiving information about some persons were manufacturing the spurious liquor, he said the police conducted raids and destroyed 3,000 litres of manufactured liquor and Jaggery wash. He said manufacturing and selling the spurious liquor was punishable and warned the people not to engage in such illegal activities.

Bind over cases would be filed on the manufacturers and if they repeat same one, even after filing bind over cases, he said they would file cases under Preventive and Detention (PD) Act.
