Kurnool: 8 sustain injuries in group clashes between TDP, YSRCP
Kurnool: Eight people sustained injuries when groups of TDP and YSRCP activists indulge in clashes at Alvakonda village in Sanjamala mandal on Sunday. The injured were shifted to Kovelakuntla Government General Hospital.
According to information, one Babu of YSR Congress and Prabhakar of TDP were having some disputes for the past some years. On Sunday both indulged in argument over a drain issue which led to the attack on each other. Some other people from both the parties rushed to the spot with sticks and sickles and attacked one another.
In the attack, Babu, Ravi Praveen, Karna and others of YSR Congress and Nagabushanam, Prabhakar, Sudarshan and Issac of TDP sustained severe injuries. All injured were shifted to Kovelakuntla Government General Hospital for treatment.
On learning about the incident, the CI B Subbarayudu of Kovelakuntla and SI Thimma Reddy of Sanjamala along with their staff rushed to Alvakonda village and took stock of the situation.
The CI B Subbarayudu told The Hans India that a petty issue has resulted in attack on each other. However, the situation is under control and a police picketing was also set up to ensure peace in the village. He further said that five persons of YSR Congress and three from TD party have sustained injuries.
