Kurnool: AISF demands release of scholarships worth 1400 crore in State
Kurnool: The All India Student Federation (AISF) district secretary E Sriramulu Goud demanded the state government to immediately release the pending fee reimbursement, scholarships, mess and cosmetic charges amounting to Rs.1400 crores. The federation leaders staged stir in front of Social Welfare Office here on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Sriramulu Goud said fee reimbursement, scholarships, cosmetic and mess charges amounting to Rs.1400 crore are pending across the state. The students and wardens are facing lot of problems at the welfare hostels. Under the circumstances, wardens are spending amount from their pockets to run the hostels, he said.
The earlier government in the name of welfare schemes, diverted the funds meant for student's fee reimbursement and scholarships. The present government also implemented schemes for students, but ignored student's welfare, alleged Sriramulu.
AISF city president, S Sarath Kumar, Muniswamy, Ramesh, Bharat, Karna, Kalyan, Hareesh and college students participated in the protest.
