Kurnool: Bankers told to sanction loans to eligible beneficiaries

Kurnool: District Collector G Veera Pandiyan has directed the bankers to immediately sanction loans to eligible beneficiaries of government welfare schemes.

He convened a video conference through zoom app on Jagananna Thodu, PM SVANidhi, YSR Cheyutha, YSR Bima, Pradhana Manthri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Padhana Mantri Jeevana Jyothi Bima Yojana with the bankers and the officials of MEPMA and DRDA from his camp office here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector instructed the bankers to sanction loans to eligible beneficiaries of government schemes like Jagananna Thodu, YSR Cheyutha, YSR Bima, Pradhana Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhana Mantri Jeevana Jyothi Bima Yojana schemes.

He said the state government with an aim to extend financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries has launched several welfare schemes. The persons who have applied for Jagananna Thodu and YSR Cheyutha through the village secretariat need to sanction immediate loans.

Several people were hardly able to earn bread and butter after working day and night. To such people the government has decided to extend Rs 10,000 interest free loans so the bankers are ordered to immediately sanction loans to them without delaying. The bankers should immediately sanction loan to approved applications received by them, adding, he ordered the officials to pursue the rejected applications and deposit the amount into their accounts.

As part of YSR Bhima scheme opening of accounts is mandatory. He ordered the officials concerned to ensure opening of bank accounts for the benefit of beneficiaries.

Joint collector Rama Sunder Reddy, Municipal Corporation Commissioner D K Balaji, DRDA and MEPMA in-charge project directors Srinivasulu, Seeresha, LDM Venkata Narayana, Animal Husbandry Joint Director Dr Ramanaiah, bankers and others participated in the video conference.
