Kurnool: Conduct 5,000 medical tests in a day, Ajay Jain tells officials

Kurnool: Covid-19 state level special officer, Ajay Jain directed the district officials to initiate steps to conduct at least 5,000 medical tests in a day. After conducting tests, get the results within 24 hours. Take care of the positive results and extend necessary medical treatment, said Ajay Jain. He held a review meeting with the district administration at the State Guest House here on Monday.

Addressing the officials, Ajay Jain said that the killer virus is spreading rapidly. At least 5000 medical tests need to be conducted within a span of 24 hours then only there would be some chance to bring the virus to control, he said. He further said the lab technicians need to work in three shifts and have to use 6 machines.

He further suggested educating the elderly people to get medication after testing their oxygen levels after detecting the pulse rate is less than 95 percent. The officials are ordered to infuse awareness among the public about the necessity of wearing masks. He advised the Superintendent of Police (SP), Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli to impose a fine of Rs.100 at urban and Rs.50 at rural areas from Wednesday. Double the penalty if ignored, said Ajay Jain.

District Collector, G Veera Pandiyan said till now 3500 tests are being conducted every day and now the tests would be enhanced to 5,000. Deputy District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO) was given the task.

District Medical and Health Officer (DMHO), Dr Rama Giddaiah, DRDA Project Director, Srinivasulu, DWAMA Project Director, Muralidhar, District Surveillance Officer, Sri Devi and other district level officials were present.
