Kurnool: Coromandel International Company distributes 100 scholarships to girl students

Kurnool: The Coromandel International Company with an aim to encourage girl students has distributed 'Rural Girl Scholarship Awards' to 100 girls studying in government schools in Kurnool district, said the company vice-president G Subba Reddy.

Kurnool MLA M A Hafeez Khan and District Education Officer (DEO) M Sairam attended and graced the occasion organised at SAP function hall here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Subba Reddy said that the company would encourage the girl students hailing from rural area to pursue higher education. He suggested the students to think out of the box and achieve the highest peaks in life. Strong determination and zeal to achieve will take you to the highest positions, he said and urged the girl students to bring name and fame to their village, district and the state. He said the students who get first rank in class IX would get Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,500 to those who get second rank. The students were handed over pre-loaded debit cards and merit certificates. MLA Hafeez Khan lauded the management of Coromandel International Company for coming up with novel thought to encourage the girl students of rural area. "This will motivate the girl students to pursue higher education," Hafeez Khan said and added that several other companies need to take Coromandel International Company as an inspiration and come forward to encourage the girl students of rural areas. District Education Officer M Sairam said the girls of rural areas need to do more hard work to achieve great things in life.

He suggested the class X students to prepare well and appear without fear. He also appreciated the Coromandel management for taking initiative and sponsoring the rural girl's education. Assistant General Manager M Govinda Rao, staff K Sudhakar, M Mohan Kumar, Ali, Madhavan, Shiva Kumar, Sreedhar Reddy and Radhu Kumar participated in the programme.
