Kurnool: Flood threat continues in various districts of Nandyal constituency
Kurnool: Flood situations still pose threat to the residents at several villages in Nandyal constituency. In view of the worsening situations the education department has announced holidays to government and private schools. Road connectivity to several villages was disrupted. Transportation between Nandyal and Kovelakuntla has totally came to halt. Nelampadu, M Govindinme Palle, Kovelakuntla and Lingala villages in Chagalamarri were completely submerged in floodwaters. The rescue team saved four shepard that struck in Vakkileru Vagu in Nelampadu village.
Sai Baba colony, Sanjeev Nagar, Saraswathi Nagar, NGOs colony in Nandyal were also submerged in knee-deep waters. The residents of these areas were shifted to safe places. Relief and medical camps have been set up at all most all flood affected areas.
The rains even lashed Alur and Adoni. Several low lying areas in Adoni were unindated with flood waters. Several roads and streets depicted to swimming pools.
District collector, G Veera Pandiyan and SP, Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli are visiting all flood-affected areas and inspecting the situations. He ordered the officials of all departments to set up relief camps. He has also ordered the municipal and electricity to take care of sanitation and uninterrupted power supply. He said command control room was set up at collectorate for assistance.
SP, Fakkeerappa Kaginelli has strictly ordered no to cross streams that are flowing above danger levels. Police personnel are alerted to take care of the adverse situations.
