Kurnool: Floodwater receded at Mahanandi temple and the devotees are allowed for Darsham. The unprecedented rains at Allagadda, Gospadu, Mahanandi, Sirivella and Nandyal have created havoc. Normal life was completely paralysed. A source has revealed that crops planted in 25000 to 30000 hectares were totally submerged in flood.

Apart from flood threat another fear is hunting the residents of Nandyal. Nandyal is surrounded with three rivulets, Kundu River, Maddileru Vagu and Shyama Kaluva. With the three rivulets flowing to its tight some of the residents were known to have seen Alligators in Kundu River. If the Alligators enter into residential areas then there will be threat to human loss. The residents urge the officials to ensure security from wild animals.

However, the fire, disaster management, police, Irrigation and revenue department personnel are deployed to initiate safety measures. Though the floods have created havoc no human loss was registered. Information is yet to receive in case of livestock loss.
