Kurnool: Former Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya demands compensation for crop loss
Kurnool: TDP state general secretary and former minister Bhuma Akhila Priya has said that the peasants would revolt against the government if they are not compensated for the crop damage. Accompanied with some party leaders, she visited Rudravaram and Chagalamarri mandals in Allagadda constituency affected due to incessant rains on Sunday.
Speaking to media, Akhila Priya said the farmers suffered a huge crop loss for three consecutive times but they were not compensated by the state government. She demanded the government to compensate the crop loss within a span of two weeks. If the government ignores to pay compensation, she said the TDP would stage a huge protest in front of the collectorate.
On Saturday also she visited Chinna Vangali, Pedda Vangali, Chintala Cheruvu and other villages where the crops were submerged in floodwaters. She spoke to the farmers and assured that the TDP would always stand by them and fight till justice was rendered. Akhila Priya alleged that the present government was least concerned to address the woes of the farmers.
She further said that the Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has visited Nandyal and inspected the flood situation. At that time, he gave assurances to the farmers that they would be compensated immediately. Despite his assurance, justice was not rendered till date, she pointed out.
