Kurnool: Girl suffering from liver problem gets new lease of life

Kurnool: The couple Veerabhadra and Pushpavathi were greatly overwhelmed with the generosity shown by the members of Nava Swapna Foundation. The couple hailed from Alur town in Kurnool district, were bestowed with four children. Of them, the second daughter Harika was suffering from liver problem. Harika did not recover well despite the treatment given at Kurnool government general hospital. Instead the child began to suffer with the stomach that was sprouting out as she began to grow. The doctors at the hospital stated that the liver needs to be transplanted and the process may cost around Rs 25-30 lakh.

Veerabhadra, a reporter in a TV channel, who could not afford such a huge amount, has urging donors to come forward to save her daughter. The members of Nava Swapna Foundation have taken the responsibility of Harka's treatment. The Foundation has paid a total bill of Rs 30 lakh towards the cost of treatment. Speaking to The Hans India on Saturday, Veerabhadra said the members of Nava Swapna Foundation have given a new lease of life to Harika.

"We have lost all hope that Niharika would not survive if liver transplant was not done. The Foundation chairman Shiva Kumar heard our woes and immediately came to our aid. With their generous help, today we were able to see a smile on our daughter's face," says Veerabhadra with a gratitude-filled heart.

Nava Swapna Foundation Chairman Shiva Kumar told The Hans India that the Foundation was started with an aim to help the poor and needy. Around 10 to 15 children suffering from various diseases and not able to afford medical expenses were extended assistance through the foundation

Shiva Kumar appealed to the people to contact the foundation for any assistance.
