Kurnool: Intense raids conducted to check liquor flow

Kurnool: To put complete check on the liquor flow, the police and excise officials jointly conducted intense raids at the manufacturing units on Wednesday.

Thousands of police personnel under the supervision of one Additional SP, DSPs, one Probationary IPS officer, 20 Circle Inspectors and 60 Assistant Sub-Inspectors conducted raids on the liquor manufacturing units since 4 am.

Based on credible information on manufacturing the spurious liquor and stacked quantity and following the orders of Superintendent of Police (SP) Fakkeerappa Kaginelli, the raids were conducted.

At the raids conducted on the hillocks of Thandas, the officials have detected huge quantity of manufactured illicit liquor. The readymade liquor was kept ready to be transported to other places across the district and to the neighbouring districts.

During the raids, thousands of litres of spurious liquor and Jaggery wash was destroyed. The officials are still continuing the raids at all places. Even searches are also known to be conducting at the houses of suspected persons.

Vehicle checking has also tightened at all check posts. The police personnel are closely monitoring the activities of Thanda people, it is said.
