Kurnool: Lockdown imposed, violators will be punished: Collector G Veera Pandian

Kurnool: District Collector G Veera Pandian has thanked the people of the district for voluntarily supporting Janata Curfew and making it a grand success. He also urged them to abide and follow the State Lock Down orders till 31st March. During Lock Down period people should not come out of their houses and anyone found violating the orders will be punished strictly, he warned.

Veera Pandiyan, along with Superintendent of Police, Fakkeerappa Kaginelli and Joint Collector, Patanshetty Ravi Subash, addressed media conference at Collector's office here on Monday.

He said that stage government has taken the decision to impose lock down in the state to prevent the spread of dreaded coronavirus. A GO 209 has been issued in this regard. According to this GO selling of essential commodities and essential services would be allowed and all other commercial transportation or congregation is strictly prohibited.

The Collector also said that Section 144 is also being implemented across the district. The orders have been forwarded to all Tahsildars, Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) and other officials across the district for strict implementation. He made an appeal to the people to cooperate with the officials that are rendering effortless services to save from the dreaded coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Superintendent of Police (SP), Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli has said that the police department has taken all possible measure to infuse awareness among the people about the corona virus. The Station House Officers along with other police personnel with the help of public addressing system are doing rounds at all villages to educate people. He said 7 border check posts have been set up to have a vigil on the persons entering the district.
