Kurnool: Mahesh Babu's pic baffles students

Kurnool: The student's photos in 'Jagananna Vasathi Deevena' cards are replaced with Tollywood hero

Mahesh Babu and are being circulating in schools and colleges. Recently, the State government with an aim to encourage poor students to pursue higher education, has launched Jagananna Vasathi Deevena scheme. Under the scheme, the ITI students would get Rs 10,000, polytechnic students will get Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 for degree students.

Several students across the district have been identified eligible under the scheme. Almost all eligible students were served with Vasathi Deevena cards. Two students were taken aback on receiving the cards as their photos were replaced with film actor Mahesh Babu. Except photo, the details of student are unchanged. Even girl student's photo was replaced with hero's photo.

One Parampogu Lakshmi, a resident of Emmiganur is pursuing B Com Computer Application at Siddartha Degree College. She was identified under the scheme and was served Vasathi Deevana card. While receiving the card, she noticed Mahesh Babu's photo printed on card in her place on card. Perplexed with the changes she took the issue to the notice of college management. The college principal after collecting the cards, surrendered them to the concerned authorities requesting for necessary changes.

Speaking to The Hans India, Siddartha Degree College Principal Venu Gopal said that the student has migrated from Pathikonda to Emmiganur. Some errors have taken place at the earlier college level. However, the concerned authorities have been requested for making necessary corrections, added the Principal.

Similar case was also noted at Pathikonda Sri Vysanavi Degree College. Ediga Lokesh Goud's photo was also replaced with hero Mahesh Babu. The college management surrendered the cards to concerned authorities for rectifying the errors. It may be recalled that earlier hero Venkatesh's photo was appeared in voters' list in Kurnool.
