Over 25 persons injured in different road mishaps

Kurnool: More than 25 persons were injured, some seriously, in different road accidents in the district on Monday. Most of the accidents were reported at Nandyal.

At least 10 persons were seriously injured when the autorickshaw in which they were travelling overturned near Pusulur Metta in Nandyal. All the victims were resident of Cheruvupalli in Owk mandal. The injured said the autorickshaw driver lost control resulting in the vehicle flipping because of the bad condition of the roads.

They were shifted to Nandyal government general hospital. Of the 10 injured, condition of two persons is said to be serious. In a similar road mishap on Kurnool-Chittoor National Highway, an elderly couple, Venkataiah and Narasamma, resident of Chandaluru village in Rudravaram sustained serious injuries. They were going to Nandyal government general hospital for treatment on a moped when their two-wheeler was hit by a car.

Three women travelling in an autorickshaw were injured when their vehicle had multiple flips at Deva Nagar in Nandyal town. Negligence of driver is blamed for the mishap. In another road accident, 6 persons were injured when two cars collided at Nandamuri Nagar in Nandyal town. The injured were said to be residents of Gadivemula village.

At least six passengers at Hanumapuram on National Highway in Yemmignoor when the autorickshaw they were travelling in was hit by a speeding car. They were shifted to Yemmignoor government general hospital for treatment.
