Kurnool: Extending support to farmer's protest in Delhi, the leaders of Andhra Pradesh Farmers and Workers Association staged a dharna in front of Tahsildar's office in Nandyal on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, association district president T Ramesh Kumar criticised the BJP-led government for introducing the three anti-farmer's laws, benefiting the corporate and multinational companies.

Awaz committee district convener Mastan Vali came down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for prolonging the issue instead of resolving it speedily. He alleged that Modi instead of resolving the farmer's issue, was trying to divert it for political gains. For one month, the farmers were staging protest braving unfavourable weather conditions on Delhi roads, he said and added but the Central government was least bothered to address the issue.

He said the Prime Minister was claiming the government was more concerned about the farming sector. If he is concerned more about the farmer's issues, then he can withdraw the anti-farmer's laws, he pointed out. Vali said that the farmers across the nation were opposing the laws as they will cause great devastation to the entire farming sector.

Another leader Saddam Hussain said the agitation supporting the farmers in Delhi would continue till the government comes down and settles the issue. If the government stands by its decision, he said the association would intensify its protests in support of farmers.

Jana Vignana Vedika leader Rama Raju, KVPS leader Alphonsa, Vali, Rathnamaiah, Tirupathaiah, Graceamma, Tirupathamma, Solaman and others participated in the protest.
