Kurnool: Private teachers, lecturers seek govt help to get salaries

Leaders of Private Teachers and Lecturers Union demand government’s intervention to save them from harassment by managements, in Kurnool on Sunday

Kurnool: The town president of Private Teachers and Lecturers Union (PTLU), Ravi Teja said they have been facing hardships including financial problems due to Covid imposed lockdown. The managements of schools and colleges are not bothered about the present plight of teachers and lecturers. He urged the state government to save them from these dire situations. The union leaders addressed media conference at STBC College here on Sunday.

Addressing on the occasion Ravi Teja said since announcement of lockdown they were removed from the schools and colleges. The managements are not even paying salaries. The issue was taken to the notice of higher authorities, but no solution was found, said Ravi Teja.

He further alleged that the schools and college managements have not been paying salaries regularly in a year. The managements are linking salaries with new admissions. The teachers and lecturers are facing the treat of losing their jobs if they disobey instructions from managements in bringing new admissions, he said

He urged the government to conduct an enquiry and take appropriate action on the managements concerned. He also urged the state government to help them and their families to overcome the crisis. He appealed the teachers and lecturers of private schools and colleges to join hands to fight for justice. Union secretary, Rasool, vice-president, Kiran and others were present.
