Suspecting fidelity, alcoholic man stabs wife to death

Kurnool: Suspecting fidelity, a man stabbed his wife to death and the incident took place at Rythu Nagaram under Nandyal Taluka police station limits in the early hours on Tuesday.

The cops after receiving information rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.

The body was shifted to Nandyal Government General Hospital for autopsy.

Circle Inspector, T Diwakar Reddy said that the deceased Lakshmi Kumari Goud (49) her husband Chalapathi Goud along with their children were residing Rythu Nagaram village. Chalapathi Goud is habituated to consuming alcohol and addicted to bad vices. He has been torturing his wife very frequently suspecting her character.

He thought of eliminating her. He picked up quarrel on Monday night while in the presence of family members. After the family members went to sleep, Chalapathi attacked Lakshmi Kumari and stabbed her indiscriminately. The family members woke up to the screams and tried to catch Chalapathi, but he managed escape and fled the scene. Lakshmi Kumari died on the spot due to profuse bleeding, stated the CI

On receiving the information the police rushed to the spot and the body was shifted to Nandyal mortuary for conducting autopsy. A case under relevant section was filed basing on the complaint lodged by the son Harshavardhan Goud of the deceased. Man hunt was launched to nab the accused, added T Diwakar Reddy.
