Kurnool:Complete lockdown in Adoni due to spike in covid cases
Kurnool: With the rapid increase in Covid-19 positive cases at Adoni, the officials have announced complete lockdown from Sunday. In a span of 24 hours, 28 cases were registered in Kurnool district. Of them 27 cases were reported from Adoni town. The increase in covid-19 cases are panicking the residents of Adoni revenue division.
In due course of time, when the cases were declining in Kurnool and Nandyal, Adoni registered an alarming number of cases. To put a check, the Adoni Revenue Division Officer (RDO), Bala Ganesh conducted an emergency meeting with the officials and discussed the steps to be taken to control the dreaded virus. He said it would be better if complete lock down is observed till the situations come to control.
Bala Ganesh said shops selling medical, groceries, vegetables, milk, meat and eggs would be allowed to be open from 6 am to 9 am. Later they will also be closed except medical shops that would be kept open round the clock. He also instructed to set up a check post at border areas between Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana states. The check posts are proposed to be set up at Yemmiganur, Aspari and Siriguppa Bypass roads.
The RDO has appealed to the people to wear masks without which they should not come out. If they have come out in emergencies, then they have to maintain social distance and clean hands with sanitisers.
