Labourers told to avail government facilities

Vijayawada: Labour Commissioner D Varaprasad said that the government was implementing many schemes for the workers to get medical facilities through the Labour Welfare Council.

Participating in one-day workshop on 'Security Services in the State' hosted by the Faculty Management Association of India-Fast-2019 here on Wednesday,

Varaprasad said, minimum wage enforcement, government assistance for training of security guards, financial difficulties from customers to contractors, PF, bonus, implementation of ESI and the security agency's responsibility in the current situation, GST flexibility and difficulties and many other issues related to the growth of local agencies were discussed and there have been discussions between government officials and the agents.

He suggested that the workers should use schemes such as YSR Insurance among others.

Provident Fund Commissioner Krishna Chowdary said that PF can be easily transferred through the linking of Aadhaar and bank account.

FMAI national president Afsar Hussain said that he was in talks with agencies and the government officials on several issues related to GST flexibility and difficulties and the growth of local agencies.

Various security agencies participated in the workshop. In this workshop they discussed GST, PF, ESE and other facilities available in the enactment to the security guards.

The meeting was attended by FMAI National Secretary Amaradeep, treasurer B Mahesh and general secretary Vallabhaneni Ramesh.
