Lensmen praised for adapting latest technplogy

Vijayawada: Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas said capturing things inside a camera in a realistic way is the job of a photographer.

The Minister participated as a chief guest at a programme organised to mark 'World Camera Day' at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati on Saturday. The guests watched the photos displayed at the exhibition and camera models right from field camera to the latest digital cameras.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that as per the changing technologies and trends the photographers are transforming themselves to the advanced technology.

He appreciated the Andhra Pradesh Photography Akademi for taking initiative and giving six months training to interested people which would provide livelihood.

The Minister said that if anything has to be publicised, the camera and the photos play a key role. "The government would always extend support to the welfare of the photographers," he said.

Central MLA Malladi Vishnu said that in the present world one cannot think of life without a camera.

He said camera is the device which has the power to show the captured photo to the entire world. He appreciated the organisers for displaying photos taken by photographers at the exhibition.

East MLA Gadde Ramamohana Rao, Akademi secretary T Srinivas Reddy, vice-president M Ravindranath, CCVA CEO Dr E Sivanagi Reddy, Andhra Arts Academy president Golla Narayana Rao and others were present.

Later, prizes were presented to the winners in various categories on the occasion.
