Library Week celebrations begin in Eluru

Eluru: The inaugural of Library Week celebrations was held at the Ch SD St Theresa's College for Women (Autonomous) here on Thursday. Sr Showrilu, vice- principal was the chief guest and Dr D Madhumalathi, Head of the Economics Department was the guest of honour.

Dr Sr Showrilu highlighted the purpose of library week celebrations. She said that libraries were the knowledge hubs. All the students have to utilize the e-books, inflibnet, e-shodh ganga, e-pathasala, swayam prabha and NDLI from digital library.

She stressed on the prime importance of inculcating the habit of reading at a young age.An essay-writing competition was conducted by the library members on 'Digital initiative for learning'. Nearly 100 students participated in the competition. K Kusuma Kumari, Librarian, Y Vijayalakshmi of PG library, S Satyavathi, Dr V Naga Lakhsmi, G Kusuma, Sai Lakshmi, and Harika attended the function.
