Lok Adalat provides speedy justice, says judge G Sunitha

Eluru: District Judge G Sunitha has said Lok Adalat provides speedy justice and a means of bringing happiness and relief among the litigants.

Speaking at the Lok Adalat organised on the premises of district court here on Saturday, she said that as many as 5,285 cases have been resolved in three national Lok Adalats organised this year. Those who have been waiting for justice for several years had compromised at the Lok Adalats and living happily.

Stating that 1962 cases which can be compromised were identified for the Lok Adalat, she expressed hope that about 1200-1400 cases can be resolved at the Lok Adalat. Both the parties can celebrate resolution of the cases at Lok Adalat, she said.

The two parties involved in the cases would be invited for counseling and encouraged to settle the case as it brings happiness in their lives, she said and appealed to litigants to avail the facility.

District Legal Services Authority secretary K Sailaja, first additional judge T Mallikharjunarao, SC/ST cases court judge K Sunitha, Bar Association president A Vijayakumar and others were present.
