Lokesh condemns arrests of party sympathisers
Amaravati: The TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh criticised the Crime Investigation Department was misused by the YSRCP government to harass and threaten the opposition leaders and sympathisers, on Tuesday in a series of tweets.
The CID was misused by the State government to implicate and arrest TDP sympathisers in the name of defamatory social media posts, he alleged.
Condemning arrests, Lokesh said there was no CID when the YSRCP mafia was rearing its head to plunder sand, mine and land resources. There was no CID when large scale corruption was taking place in the acquisition of lands for the house sites. There was no CID when J-tax collections rose to a peak in liquor, Lokesh criticised.
Lokesh said when so many misdeeds were taking place, there was no CID but the same institution was quick to make midnight arrests of TDP sympathisers for no fault of theirs. The TDP will stand by the party sympathisers Krishna and Kishore who faced harassment now, he assured. The same CID was silent when YSRCP MPs, MLAs and Ministers themselves were blaming Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy misrule for problems of the people, he added. He questioned that will the CID arrest the YSRCP leaders too for criticising the Chief Minister?.
