Low-lying areas inundate due to floods in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Over the increase of floodwater in the Krishna river, many low lying areas in Vijayawada have been submerged in the water. The colonies of Geetha Nagar, Ramalingeswara Nagar, Balaji Nagar, are filled with water.

The floodwater reached into the houses on Raghu road, Gandhi Nagar here in the city. The officials are conducting the rescue operations with the help of boats. The district Collector Imtiaz and Municipal Commissioner are monitoring relief works.
