Machilipatnam: 84 ambulances flagged off

Machilipatnam: Transport Minister Perni Nani inaugurated 84 ambulances at the Police Parade Grounds here on Thursday. The state government allotted 35 vehicles of 108 services and 49 vehicles of 104 services to the district as part of the efforts to strengthen the emergency medical services in the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Perni Nani said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had strengthened the objective of his father Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy, who introduced 108 ambulance services. Nani said 22 vehicles have basic life support equipment and 11 vehicles have advanced life support equipment that will be very useful to save the lives of people. He said two vehicles were allotted for neonatal services in Nuzvid and Machilipatnam respectively.

The minister alleged that the TDP government had totally neglected the 108 ambulance services because the services were introduced by former chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy. He said the initiative taken by CM Jagan gets applause in the country because these services will be very useful to the people during the Covid-19 lockdown time.

District collector Md Imtiaz said the drone videos of ambulances evoked huge response in the country and many people curiously watched the drone videos of ambulances. District superintendent of police M Ravindranath Babu termed the incident as historic one.

MLAs Simhadri Ramesh Babu, D Nageswara Rao, Kaila Anil Kumar, District Revenue Officer A Prasad, RDO Sk Khaja Vali, Government hospital superintendent Dr Naik and other officials were present on the occasion.

Earlier, the minister joyfully made a drive in the ground.
