Machilipatnam: Complain on harassment at workplaces, women told
Machilipatnam: Additional Superintendent of Police M Sattibabu has appealed to the women to lodge a complaint, if they face sexual harassment at the workplace. He said stringent action will be taken against the persons involved in such acts and offences.
He addressed a meeting organized at the district police office in Machilipatnam on Wednesday on sexual harassment in work places. Machilipatnam child development project officer S Jayalakshmi and women staff from the police department attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, the ASP said many laws were enacted to check the sexual harassment at workplaces and asked the women to lodge complaint to the police if they face such harassment. He said committees are formed to fight against sexual harassment at the workplace.
A new committee has been formed for the women police staff on the occasion. DK Ratna Kumari, S Sujanasri, D Sridevi and K Jyothy were elected as members of the new committee.
