Mahatma's 150th birth anniversary School kids present a rare show in Tirupati
Tirupati : In a fitting tribute to Mahatma in connection with his 150th birth anniversary, the children of Spring Dale Public School performed a rare show in which 150 children dressed as Gandhi participated in a commemorative meeting on Friday.
Reflecting the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma, the 150 school students dressed as Mahatma appeared with the back ground of a lengthy national flag adding more to the patriotic fervour. Photographs related Gandhi's life, childhood, education, participation in various movements during freedom struggle, paintings and drawings of Mahatma by students were displayed.
The students also enacted some of the scenes from his life which had a great impact on him leading the Indian freedom struggle. Sabarmati Asramam where Gandhi spent his days was also recreated in the school campus to bring back the memories of the Great leader.
On the occasion, the school correspondent KS Vasu said the Jayanthi celebration was planned to inspire the children follow the footsteps of Gandhi whose principles are more relevant in the present society.
School Principal KR Anuradha, Headmistress V Prameela Krishnan, Administrative Officers K Chandrasekhar and Sambasiva Reddy, teachers, parents and students were present.
