Tirupati: Mahila varsity to preserve Malathi Chandur's works
Tirupati: Lauding the works of famous writer Malathi Chandur, the head of Telugu Department in Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) Prof K Madhu Jyothi has said that the department has taken over the responsibility of preserving her writings for future generations. Malati Chandur has always strived for the good in the society and her writings reflect this nature. She not only contributed several novel and ideal writings but practiced the ideals throughout her life.
While speaking at Malathi Chandur Memorial Endowment Lecture organised by Department of Telugu of SPMVV on Wednesday, she said that Malathi has always batted for social change which was evident from her writings. The Dean of School of Social Sciences Prof K Murugaiah has remembered that both Malathi and great actress Suryakantham have got Doctorate degrees at the same time. She has contributed several novels, stories, speeches and other works which are quite interesting at all times and attributed all credit to her husband, he said.
On this occasion, essay writing competition on Malathi Chandur's literary works was held and distribute prizes to winners. Prof G Aruna Kumari, Y Ramakrishna, Prof Madabhushi Sampath Kumar, Prof N Munirathnamma and Dr D Yuvasri also spoke on the occasion.
Dr Y Subhashini, Dr B Lakshmi Priya, faculty of the Varsity, students and research scholars took part in the programme.
