Make age hike GO applicable from May, retired RTC staff plea to govt
Eluru: APSRTC employees who retired between May 2019 and August 2019 have urged the State government to apply retirement age hike GO from May 2019 itself instead of September 2019 to provide them justice.
A group of retired APSRTC employees met Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani and requested him to persuade the State government to include staff who retired between May 2019 and August 2019 for being eligible to continue in service till they attain 60 years as per the GO issued by the government after Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy taking charge in May 2019.
They said as the GO relating to the increase of retirement age from 58 years to 60 years was issued in September, those who retired since May 2019 were at a big loss. If the government makes the GO effective from date of the Chief Minister taking charge, many would be able to continue in their service which is a thing of joy for their families.
The minister assured them to take the issue to the notice of the Transport Minister and do justice to them. He said the government had merged the APSRTC into government to do justice to the employees and it would continue to work for the welfare of the APSRTC staff.
