Make Kanti Velugu programme a success: Officials told

Ongole: Prakasam District Collector Pola Bhaskara on Wednesday directed he district officials to show dedication and make the YSR Kanti Velugu programme a success. The officials were also asked to ensure success of YSR Rytu Bharosa programme and Village Secretariat system.

The Collector announced that the district administration has taken measures to conduct eye tests for all students in the government and private schools in the district from October 10 to 16 and provide eyeglasses. The schoolchildren, who are found with acute eye problems, would be referred to surgeries. He announced that 911 teams were formed to conduct tests for 4.26 lakh schoolchildren in 4,450 schools in the district. He directed the officials to invite local people's representatives to inaugurate the YSR Kanti Velugu programmes at all mandal headquarters.

Bhaskara instructed the officials to prepare lists of farmers to launch the Raytu Bharosa programme on October 15 and display the lists at the panchayat offices. He said those eligible farmers who did not find their names in the lists can submit applications. He asked the officials to utilise the services of village and ward secretaries and also the services of the employees. the Panchayat Raj officials were told to construct Secretariat buildings wherever necessary and utilise the MGNREGS scheme for it.
