Make medicines available in government hospitals

Tirupati: District Collector Dr N Bharat Gupta has asked officials concerned to take steps to ensure three months stock of medicines are available in government hospitals. He conducted meeting with Hospital and College Development Societies of Ruia, Maternity Hospital and SV Medical College here on Saturday and reviewed with doctors on the immediate requirements and other issues.

In order to extend best medical care to patients, all equipment should be in order. If they are not in working condition, immediately repair works should be done or proposals for buying new equipment are to be submitted, he stated.

If medicines are not available, Aarogya Sri patients have to buy medicines outside and get MRP rates whereas by purchasing them through tender process, 50 per cent can be saved. He asked the hospital Superintendent to take steps to get 80G exemption from Income Tax department for equipment donated by donors.

Any vacancies in hospitals are to be filled through outsourcing by getting necessary approvals. The battery vehicle at Ruia Hospital has to be repaired immediately and a new battery vehicle for Maternity Hospital has to be purchased.

Ortho, Paediatric and Cardiology departments needs a thorough review and a report has to be submitted on immediate needs. The Collector asked to submit the details of doctors, who are on deputation elsewhere, to cancel their deputation as their services are required here only. Later, he visited SV Medical College and enquired with the students about the facilities available.

Ruia Hospital Superintendent Dr B Sidda Naik, SV Medical College Principal Dr G Ravi Prabhu, Maternity Hospital Superintendent Dr V Bhavani, RMO Dr U Srihari, CSRMO Dr RR Reddy, DCHS Dr Saralamma, DM&HO Dr B Ramagiddaiah and others participated in the meeting.
