Man set fire on mother-in-law over dispute with wife in Nellore district

Nellore: In a freak incident, a man set fire on his mother-in-law over a small dispute with his wife in the Nellore district.

Going into details, Venkataramana set fire on his mother-in-law Lakshmamma a native of Ananthasagaram mandal by pouring petrol on her on Sunday night. Immediately, she was rushed to the Atmakur government hospital, where she is presently receiving the treatment.

Jayamma, daughter of Lakshmamma, was married to Venkataramana of Verubotlapalli village. As Jayamma's health was not well, she came to the parent's house along with her husband on Sunday.

On that night, a small argument broke between the couple regarding the bed, where Venkataramana slapped his wife. With this, Lakshmamma confronted him. Venkataramana, who lost his cool, took the petrol from his bike and poured on his mother-in-law and set her on fire.

Upon hearing the screaming of Lakshamma, the locals came for her rescue and put off the flames and rushed her to the hospital. On receiving the complaint from Jayamma, the police have registered a case and investigating further.
