Mangrove territory not correct to build houses
Kakinada: Former Godavari Urban Development Authority Director, BJP state spokesperson and Civil Engineer Gatti Satyanarayana commented that the district officials are destroying more than 115 acres of land where mangroves are grown with full extent for distribution of house sites to the poor.
While speaking to the media here on Saturday, he said that 78,000 acres of land has been gradually reduced to 4,000 acres. He said that the proposed housing colony for them in mangroves area would deprive them of the ventilation and other infrastructure facilities.
He said that in the territory of mangroves it is hardly possible to build houses. Mr. Satyanarayana appealed the government to reconsider their plan of destroying the mangroves and maintain the status quo.
