Many fail to apply for village volunteer posts due to server issues in Mee Seva Centers
Bhimavaram: Applicants for village volunteers have been facing difficulty with server failure at Mee Seva and internet centres in almost all places. With Friday being the last day for applying, the candidates wasted a large chunk of their precious time waiting for server restoration. Many candidates who could not apply because of net problem have been appealing the government to extend the last date for applying for the posts.
Usually, it takes five minutes to enter details of candidates in website. However, because of server down problem, the waiting candidates witnessed at the registration centres. It was taking about one hour for filing details of each candidate at these centres.
Power supply disruption was another problem that hampered the efforts of the candidates to register their details online. Those who are applying for village volunteer include graduates, post-graduates and engineering graduates.
The government set time limit from June 24 to July 5 for applying for the posts. During the first five days of this period server problem prevented the candidates from applying early. Even during last days the same situation continued much to the anxiety of the applicants.
Non-linking of Aadhaar number and non-receipt of OTP on mobile were the common problems the candidates faced while applying for the post. For SC candidates, delay in issue of caste certificate was the main problem. The candidates who cannot apply for above reasons urged the government to extend the last date.
