Markapuram: State government farmer-friendly said Balineni Srinivasa Reddy
Markapuram: The State government is a farmers' friendly government and is implementing a number of programs for the welfare of farmers, Minister for Energy, Forests, Environment, Science, and Technology Balineni Srinivasa Reddy said.
He participated as the chief guest at the swearing-in ceremony of the Agriculture Market Yard Committee president and directors at Markapuram on Monday.
Speaking at the programme, the Minister said that the government has established the market stabilization fund with Rs 3000 crore in the state. He assured that the minimum support price would be offered to the crops and asked the farmers not to worry about it. He said that the Chief Minister has observed the plight of common people in his padayatra and the State government would be all supportive to the public.
He said the pensions, housing schemes, Arogyasri cards would be distributed to the poor as part of the Navaratnalu programme. He said that the schools are being provided with infrastructure under the Nadu-Nedu program. He informed that the drinking and irrigation water will be provided locally through the Veligonda project.
Markapuram MLA Kunduru Nagarjuna Reddy said that the Chief Minister was giving equal priority to the Veligonda project with the Polavaram project.
He said that the YSRCP government was working for the welfare of women by providing 50 percent reservation in the nominated posts and that is why Markapuram AMC also headed by a woman today.
Later, the marketing department AD Upendra Kumar administered the oath to AMC president Guntaka Krishnaveni and 13 directors.
