Married woman kidnapped by parents in Nellore district
Nellore: In an incident, a married woman was allegedly kidnapped by her parents and relatives as she got married against their will. This crime came into light when the victim's husband approached the police.
On receiving the complaint, the Nellore Chinna Bazaar police got into action and solved the case within hours and handed over the woman to her husband.
According to the police, Venkataramana of AS Peta and Pavani who belongs to Kaluvai Mandal were in love. However, Pavani's parents refused for their marriage over the differences of the caste.
With this, both got a love marriage five months ago and shifted to AS Peta. On Thursday, Venkataramana and his wife came to VR college in Nellore to collect certificates. On knowing about this, Pavani's parents attacked Venkataramana and kidnapped Pavani near the vegetable market here in the city.
Immediately, Venkataramana approached Chinna Bazaar police station and complained about the incident. On receipt of the information, the police have formed a special team and initiated the investigation.
The police rescued Pavani, who was held captive at her relative's house at Tegacherla village in Rapur Mandal. Over the incident, the police have registered a case and took the accused into their custody. Later Pavani was handed over to her husband.
The district SP Bhaskar Bhushan, and Nellore city DSP J Srinivas Reddy congratulated Chinna Bazaar police for breaking the case within hours.
