MCT introduces 5 desilting machines for clearing sewage lines
Tirupati: Municipal Corporation of Tirupati introduced five machines to clear underground drainage lines in the city. It may be noted that for the past several years sanitation workers have been clearing the manholes of UDS. With the MP lads (local area development scheme), MCT has purchased five new machines to clean sewage lines. The five vehicles were purchased at Rs 47.25 lakh, each at a cost of Rs 9.45 lakh.
Tirupati MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy formerly inaugurated the five new automatic desilting vehicles at MCT office.
MCT commissioner PS Girisha said that people can give their complaints over drainage blockades through whatsapp also. He said that MCT would purchase 7 more automatic desilting machines. Civic body will allot one vehicle to each sanitary division in the city. Additional Commissioner D Haritha , Deputy Commissioner Chandramouliswer Reddy , SE Udaya Kumar and EEs B Chandrashekar and Venkatrami Reddy were present during inauguration of vehicles.
