Measures mooted to conserve environment

Visakhapatnam: With the depletion of natural resources growing at an alarming rate, experts called upon steps at individual level to help conserve environment and contribute their bit to bring down carbon footprint.

The concluding day of the seminar on 'Environmental protection and conservation,' organised jointly by Nature and Vishwa Yuvak Kendra, at Araku Valley focussed on considering concrete steps to conserve natural resources and protect the flora and fauna of the ecosystems.

Participating in the valedictory, Paderu MLA K Bhagya Lakshmi called for a collective efforts of all the stakeholders to conserve the environment. She stressed on the need to enhance environmental management systems by adopting eco-friendly methods at various levels from raw material procurement to product development.

She emphasised on the improved awareness level among people to help make the planet more livable for the future generations. The seminar focussed on involving communities to address environmental issues, exchanging best practices. Founder of Nature S Balaraju, among others spoke.
